Where do you volunteer?
MS Society Event
What inspired you to get involved?
My granny died before I was born. She had Multiple Sclerosis and cancer. My mum had done some firewalks for the MS Society and so I wanted to do something to help too. I started with the Santa Dash and Dander and have kept going, raising money for different charities since then.
What does your volunteering involve?
My volunteering is supporting fundraising events for charity. I have done charity runs, walks and even gone ‘up the Lagan in a bubble’ for charity. I’m also a Charity Ambassador at my school so I’ve done different things for the school’s charities.
What do you enjoy most about volunteering and what has been your highlight?
Because of my age, I can only do certain fundraising events – runs, walks. When I was 7 years old I got a Guinness World Record for the longest rubber band bracelet and thought I would go for another record, but try to raise money at the same time. When I was 9 years old, I was successful in getting a Guinness World Record for the longest paper clip chain, and at the same time raised money for Marie Curie. This was great fun and I was really pleased with the money I raised.
