Nuchjarinthorn J Moore
Where do you volunteer?
Ulster Rugby
What inspired you to get involved?
Having seen the movie Invictus I was inspired to get involved with Rugby. Seeing people smile because of something other people or myself have done is a fantastic feeling.
What does your volunteering involve?
It involves coaching Rugby and helping with half time or match day events at Ulster rugby. I'm also involved in raising money for Cancer Research UK.
What skills or qualities are required for your volunteering role?
Working in this type of role required you to be enthusiastic with a caring personality. On a practical level it also required Mini Level 1 Coaching Badge and Level 2 Coaching Badge.
What do you enjoy most about volunteering and what has been your highlight?
My highlight was when Paddy Wallace told me my hat was cool at a photo grouping! You get to meet lots of cool people; I have many memories from getting the chance to meet new people.
Why would you encourage others to become a Millennium Volunteer and what advice would you give them?
A lot of employers now ask for experience, and I saw volunteering as a great way to get that. My experience gave me new skills, new ideas and best of all new ways to interact with people.
