What inspired you to get involved?
I grew up in this area and the youth workers told me about their clubs they have. So I went down 1 night as a young person and grew up through that! Now I want to invest in the young peopleís lives.
What does your volunteering involve?
I volunteer with children in the homework club, girls group, and the kids club. The youth work Iím involved with is the schools detached (go into local schools at lunch time), girls group, cell group, active youth camp.
What skills or qualities are required for your volunteering role?
You have to have confidence in yourself to volunteer to help the young people listen to you. You also need to be willing to get involved with everything.
What do you enjoy most about volunteering and what has been your highlight?
I enjoy just hanging with the young people and getting to know them and seeing if they have any problems so you can help them. My highlight would be just seeing them opening up to the leaders and seeing them enjoy themselves at the clubs.
Why would you encourage others to become a Millennium Volunteer and what advice would you give them?
My advice would be to just get involved in it and give it 100%. Its worth doing it!
