Megan McBride
Where do you volunteer?
Rainbow Factory School of Performing Arts and St Dominic's Grammar School
What inspired you to get involved?
My need to pass on my professional training. Also, I come from a broken home and I wanted to bring a positivity to young people in Belfast.
What does your volunteering involve?
Teaching young people how to perform. I also helped with building work at a school in Zambia for 12 days.
What skills or qualities are required for your volunteering role?
You need to have patience, passion, stamina and professional skills.
What do you enjoy most about volunteering and what has been your highlight?
Seeing the smiles on people's faces when you give them some hope.
Why would you encourage others to become a Millennium Volunteer and what advice would you give them?
Do it young, it spurs you on to continue doing it! The younger you are, the more time to volunteer.
