Rebecca Moran
What inspired you to get involved?
I've always wanted to volunteer. I seen it as a good way to meet new people and provide help for the community.
What does your volunteering involve?
My volunteering involves various things from marshalling to excavating with archaeologists. I also work with children during fun days.
What skills or qualities are required for your volunteering role?
I need to be patient and up for working in new environments with new people. This has taught me to be flexible and versatile.
What do you enjoy most about volunteering and what has been your highlight?
I enjoy having time opportunity to meet loads of new people, and my highlight would have to be the dig at Elagh Castle, where I joined in with Archaeologists from Queens University, which opened up a new hobby to explore.
Why would you encourage others to become a Millennium Volunteer and what advice would you give them?
I would advise people to not be scared to volunteer, as everyone is more than welcoming and everyone is grateful for your help. Id also encourage everyone to volunteer as it opens up doors to many opportunities.
